Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg, a Swedish actor and actress who lived in Sweden during the 1950s to 1970s, made appearances in several European films and American films. Her most renowned role was in the drama comedy film "La Dolce Vita". In 1960, the film received its Golden Palm and an Oscar at the Cannes Film Festival. The film also had both critical and commercial success. She was born in Skane and worked as an actress before beginning her acting career. Then she won the Miss Sweden contest. After her move to US she was able to act in various films, playing small roles. Her first credit role was in the movie "Abbott and Costello Go To Mars In the film, she was the role of a Venusian guard. The same year, she received with the Golden Globe in the category of "Most Outstanding Newcomer," for her role in the movie 'Blood Alley. Her filmography included many different films that included the war drama War and Peace, the Western "Valerie," the British crime-adventure film The Man Inside and the Italian/French drama The Dam on the Yellow River.'
