Rod Wave
Rodarius Marcell Green (born August 27, 1998) also known as Rod Wave, is an American rapper and singer. [3][4][5"[3][4][5] Wave is known for his strong voice, mixing R&B and hiphop [2and has been described as the first pioneer of soul-trap. His 2019 single "Heart on Ice" was a huge popular hit on YouTube and TikTok. The song peaked at the top 25 spot on Billboard Hot 100. [7] Wave's debut album, Ghetto Gospel (2019), peaked at number 10 on the US Billboard 200. The second album of Wave entitled Prayer 4 Love (2020), was ranked 2 on the Billboard 200.[9It also included the smash single "Rags2Riches", that reached the top spot at 12 on the Hot 100. The third album, SoulFly (2021), debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 (marking his first album that reached the top of the charts). Wave's career began in 2016 when he released his mixtape, Hunger Games Vol. 1. Prior to signing with Alamo Records, he released several mixtapes by himself. On the 14th of June in 2019, he debuted his mixtape PTSD, which included the song "Heart on Ice". The track went viral on YouTube and TikTok it reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. [7] Wave's debut album, Ghetto Gospel, was released on November 1, 2019. It reached the top 10 spot on the US Billboard 200. The album that Rod Wave released in his second album, Pray 4 Love was released April 3 in 2020. It debuted at the number 2 spot on Billboard 200. The deluxe edition was released on August 7. The majority of songs from the album charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "S" (featuring ATR son Son) was ranked 12 on the Hot 100. It became his most-charting song. Wave was selected for XXL's 2020 Freshman Class on August 11 the 11th of August, 2020. Wave made an appearance in July 2020 to reveal that he had been making his third album. The album was originally scheduled for August 27 in 2020. The singer announced the tracklist of the album SoulFly in an interview held on March 6th, 2021. The album includes songs "Street Runner" and "Tombstone" the highest-charting song which peaked at number 11 on the Hot 100. "18"[19]" Wave's track "Nirvana" that was released the late 2021s, generated controversy. Many believed that the song could be a suicide note, but Wave insists that this was not the case. [20]
